To avoid the beautiful yet dangerous and busy coast road of Croatia and Montenegro, I was eager to created an inland route. It leads through hardly populated and very beautiful areas. Roughly it follows the old main road from Venice to Dubrovnik, made ‘by’ Napoleon. At times the new motorway follows the same course, but it doesn’t bother much in terms of sound.

Note that you can go up the unpaved Ćiro trail @ 160 KM.
